Born on 31 March 1974 in Florence, after high school in Scandicci (near Florence) he attended Law School at the University of Florence. Politics has always been his great passion together with a strong commitment to civic society. With this aim in mind and following his dream of making a contribution to changing the world, he soon realized that in order to achieve such a goal it was necessary to start with the younger generation and in 1995 he created the \u201cProgetto Citt\u00e0\u201d, a civil and social project still running today and promoting public meetings, private seminars and training courses with the aim of ensuring that the future Italian ruling class will rise above ad-libbing and amateurism that have prevailed over the years. Fuelled by the same ambition, in the year 2000, together with two leading Italian businessmen – Cesare Romiti (former President, Fiat Group and Chairman of Corriere della Sera, the most prestigious Italian newspaper) and Andrea Riffeser Monti, (CEO, Poligrafici Editoriale, the third publishing group in Italy) he established the Osservatorio Permanente Giovani \u2013 Editori. This organization\u2019s mission is to help today\u2019s young people become tomorrow\u2019s critical readers, to ensure they will be better citizens, committed to change and active players in a stronger democracy. Today, this civil project involves 15 prestigious Italian publishing groups, 20 bank foundations, 9 large companies with a strong CSR commitment.\u00a0 Furthermore, in the years, this project is delivered thanks to more thousand teachers in the Italian upper secondary schools and has been involved millions students ranging from 14 to 18 years of italian’s high schools.<\/p>\n
\u201cQuality Information in Classroom\u201d- the Osservatorio\u2019s most important project – brings into Italian high school classrooms some of the most prestigious national digital and printed newspapers in the country. These valuable educational tools will foster a modern form of civic education and students are asked to compare at least three different sources of quality information and assess how a story can be told in three different ways, thus developing a critical mind.<\/p>\n
Progetto Citt\u00e0 and Osservatorio Permanente Giovani \u2013 Editori\u00a0 are bound together and inspired by the American Indian oath whereby the elders tell the young in their community that they do not inherit the Earth from their ancestors but they borrow it from their own children and need to commit to make it a better place compared to what they found.<\/p>\n
