“The Quality Information in Campus”

“The Quality Information in Campus” is a project launched in Italian Universities in 2007 using a pilot test involving 25 Universities and 67 professors. The project was created with the aim of supporting young students by teaching them to engage with high quality journalism, once their experience with “Newspapers in the Classroom” in secondary schools is over.

The Osservatorio Permanente Giovani-Editori promotes the “The Quality Information in Campus” initiative with the main aim of making subjects relevant to the modern day by using the “newspaper” as a teaching tool in Universities. The project has involved 75 Universities and 150 professors.

A flexible “media education” format: each professor involved in the project receives copies of three newspapers (Corriere della Sera, Il Sole 24 Ore and Quotidiano Nazionale) to be used to teach students with a totally autonomous method. Four disciplines were identified (Communication, Law, Economics and Training) for which the synergy between the “newspaper” tool and the subjects taught is at its most effective.
